Registry authoring

The TypeScript, TSX, and CSS files in packages/registry/src are the source of truth. Public registry records, API metadata, integrity hashes, and the documentation catalog are generated from those files.

Add or update an item

Keep registry IDs and filenames in kebab-case.
Export React components in PascalCase and hooks in camelCase.
Declare internal imports through the aq-ui aliases so the generator can build an exact dependency graph.
Add tests, docs or stories, and public types with the implementation.

Generated JSON under apps/docs/public/r and the root registry.json must never be edited manually. CI checks both drift and the official shadcn registry schemas.

Verify consumer behavior

Run pnpm check before opening a pull request. It validates formatting, lint, types, registry contracts, npm packaging, React 18 consumer installation, Vite and React Router bundling, Next.js static export, and Storybook.
